Protect Yourself for Winter – Flu Vaccinations 2025/6
Flu is not just a cold. It’s a highly infectious disease with symptoms that come on very quickly. For some the disease can lead to hospitalisation, permanent disability or even death.
Eligible patients can protect themselves by getting the flu vaccine.
New for 2025: Walk-in Flu Vaccination Clinics
We want to make it as easy as possible for our patients to get the flu vaccine.
We will send all eligible patients a text message link to book.
However, if you prefer, we are now running walk-in vaccination clinics on Saturday mornings in October at both our practices.

FAQ
Who is eligible for the flu vaccine?
We will send a text message to all patients. However, the general groups are: children aged 2-3, children in high risk groups, and the following adults:
- pregnant women
- patients with some long term health conditions
- those aged 65 years or over
- living in a residential or nursing home
- the main carer of an older or disabled person
- living with someone who has lowered immunity due to disease or treatment
- a frontline health or social care worker
Does the flu vaccine give you flu?
No, this is a myth. The flu vaccine is inactivated, which means it doesn’t contain the ‘live’ virus.
